Privacy Policy
Alboo is a local-first photo album app. Your photos and albums are processed on your device and are not uploaded to an Alboo server.
The short version: no accounts, no advertising, no sale of personal information, and no photo uploads to us.
1. Who this policy covers
This Privacy Policy explains how Alboo (the “App”) handles information when you use it. Alboo is operated by the independent developer identified in the App Store or Google Play listing. For privacy questions, contact alboo@naco.studio.
2. Information handled on your device
When you grant photo-library access and choose photos, the App may access and process:
- the photos you select;
- photo-library identifiers;
- available metadata such as filename, dimensions, capture date, and location embedded in a photo;
- album titles and subtitles, favorite selections, layouts, crops, and other editing choices; and
- display-quality copies created for reliable album display and export.
This information is used to select, organize, edit, display, preserve, and export your albums. Photo analysis used to suggest layouts or crops runs on the device. Alboo does not request access to your contacts and does not use your device’s live GPS location.
3. Photos and iCloud
Original photos remain in your system photo library. If a selected photo is stored in iCloud Photos rather than downloaded locally, Apple’s system services may retrieve it to your device so Alboo can display or export it. Alboo does not operate iCloud and does not receive the photo on an Alboo server.
You control photo access through your device settings. Removing access may prevent Alboo from displaying an original photo, although a locally saved display copy may remain until you remove that photo from the album or delete the album.
4. Diagnostic information
In beta or production versions, Alboo may use Sentry to receive sanitized crash and reliability information. This may include technical details such as the App version, platform or operating-system information, error category, timing, and aggregate operational counts.
Alboo is configured not to send default personally identifiable information, session replays, console logs, photos, album or photo identifiers, titles, subtitles, filenames, embedded locations, local file paths, or raw error messages to Sentry. Despite these safeguards, Sentry processes diagnostic events as a service provider under its own infrastructure and policies. Learn more in Sentry’s Privacy Policy.
5. Feedback form
Alboo may invite you to share feedback. Feedback is optional. When you choose to open the feedback form, Alboo opens a form hosted by Tally (tally.so) in your device’s default browser. Tally processes your answers under its own infrastructure and policies; see Tally’s Privacy Policy.
Alboo opens the form using a clean web address and does not attach photos, album information, filenames, locations, identifiers, or technical usage context. Anything you choose to type into the form is received by us through Tally. The form asks for an email address, which is optional; if you provide it, we use it only to follow up on your feedback. Please do not include sensitive information in your answers.
6. How information is used
Information is used only to provide the App’s features, preserve albums on your device, generate exports you request, maintain security, diagnose failures, respond to and learn from your feedback, and improve reliability. Alboo does not use information for advertising, behavioral profiling, or remarketing.
7. Sharing and disclosure
Alboo does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Information may leave your device only in these limited situations:
- sanitized diagnostic information may be processed by Sentry as described above;
- if you choose to submit the external feedback form, the answers you provide are processed by Tally;
- when you choose to export or share a PDF, the operating system sends it to the person, app, or service you select; and
- information may be disclosed if required by applicable law or necessary to protect rights, safety, and security.
Recipients you select through the system share sheet handle the exported file under their own terms and privacy practices.
8. Storage, retention, and deletion
Album records and display copies are stored locally on your device. They remain there until you remove the relevant photo or album, clear the App’s data, or uninstall the App, subject to device backups controlled by you or your platform provider. Deleting an album removes Alboo’s local album data and display copies but does not delete original photos from your system photo library.
Sentry retains diagnostic events according to the retention settings and contractual terms applicable to the developer’s Sentry project. Diagnostic events expire or are deleted when no longer reasonably needed for reliability and security purposes. Feedback submissions are kept in the developer’s Tally account only as long as needed to review and act on them; you can ask us to delete yours at the address below.
9. Security
Alboo minimizes off-device processing and uses operating-system permissions to limit photo access. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but reasonable technical measures are used to reduce the information sent in diagnostics and protect the information handled by the App.
10. International processing
Sentry, Tally, and their subprocessors may process diagnostic and feedback information in countries other than your own, including the United States or European Union. Where required, processing is subject to contractual or other lawful transfer safeguards described by those providers.
11. Your choices and rights
You may limit or revoke photo access in your device settings, delete individual albums inside Alboo, delete exported files, or uninstall the App. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability regarding personal information processed off-device.
Send privacy requests to alboo@naco.studio. Because Alboo has no user accounts and intentionally removes user and media identifiers from diagnostics, we may be unable to associate a diagnostic event with you. We will explain this if it prevents fulfillment of a request.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process diagnostic information based on our legitimate interest in keeping the App reliable and secure, and feedback based on your consent when you choose to submit it. Sentry and Tally act as our service providers (processors) for this information. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
12. California disclosures
Alboo does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising and does not knowingly use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about users. The App does not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals because it does not track users across third-party websites or apps.
13. Children
Alboo is not directed to children under 13, and the developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Photos selected by an adult may depict children, but those photos remain on the device and are not uploaded to Alboo. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the diagnostic service or the feedback form, contact us.
14. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when Alboo’s features, providers, or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top will be revised, and material changes will be communicated through the App or its store listing when appropriate.
